Colemann AAF (Mannheim) Military Airfield

Airfield mil USAR (US Army)

Coleman Barracks is the largest base in Mannheim and was named after LTC Wilson D. Coleman. It was built between 1938 and 1939 as an airfield for fighters and bombers of the German Army. It is the home of about 4,500 active duty Army personnel, 500 civilians and a handful of Air Force personnel. Coleman has the busiest airfield in USAREUR. The following units are also based at Coleman: 70th Transportation Battalion, 97th signal Battalion, 125th Support Battalion and the USAREUR Confinement Facility.
