Located 20km north of Cape Portland (north east tip of Tasmania) by sea
and 151km from Launceston by air, Flinders Island is the largest of the
Furneaux group of Islands which lie at the eastern end of Bass Straight
separating Tasmania from Victoria. It is about 29km wide at its widest
point and 64km long.

Consists of two runways
Runway 14/32 at 1720 metres long
Runway 05/23 at 1070 metres long
Both runways are 30 metres wide and have permanent runway lighting with
standby power available
Pilot activated lighting on 119.6 MHz
Day and night pilot monitored navigation aids installed
Air BP refuelling depot both Avgas and Jet Fuel
Large grassed parking area for light planes (no parking fees)
Landing charges are applicable
Recently built terminal and lounge facilities (public phone/ cold drinks)
Taxi and hire cars available at terminal
