Sydney Airport has prepared its Preliminary Draft Airport Environment Strategy (AES) for the period 2005 to 2010. Once finalised, the AES will provide the key strategic direction for environmental management of Sydney Airport over the term of the strategy. The Preliminary Draft AES has been prepared in consultation with key stakeholders including the local community.
What the Strategy Includes
The AES details Sydney Airport's:
· Environment Policy
· Environmental management objectives and targets
· Environmentally significant areas
· Sources of environmental impact associated with airport operations, and
· Five-year Environmental Action Plans, detailing the strategic-level studies, reviews and monitoring to be carried out to achieve Sydney Airport's objectives and targets.
The AES also provides a background of the environmental management framework for Sydney Airport, a description of the environmental legislative context within which the airport operates, and an overview of the existing environment of Sydney Airport.
