Parnaíba - Prefeito Dr. João Silva Filho Airport (IATA: PHB, ICAO: SBPB) is the airport serving Parnaíba, Brazil. It was formerly known as Santos Dumont Airport. It is named after the former mayor of Parnaíba João Silva Filho.
It is operated by Infraero. History
The airport is located on a privileged area, between the municipalities of Camocim e Jericoacoara, in Ceará, the delta of river Parnaíba, in Piauí, and Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Maranhão. The airport has thus a great touristic potential.
The architecture of the terminal is inspired on Santos Dumont Airport in Rio de Janeiro. The runway is capable of handling most of the aircraft currently in use and can receive regular or charter domestic and international flights.
