El Edén International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional El Edén) (IATA: AXM, ICAO: SKAR) is an international airport located in the Colombian city of Armenia. It handles all domestic flights to the major airports of the country and some international destinations.
Following Armenia's January 25, 1999 earthquake, the terminal had to be rebuilt after major seismic activity caused much of the building to collapse. During 2008/2009, the airport's runway was extended, the control tower's height was increased, and the terminal building was partly upgraded to include a new international gate and immigration area. The airport is now capable of receiving aircraft such as: Boeing 737 and 727, Airbus 319 and 320, McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and Fokker 100, amongst others.
The new terminal has one food court, three Domestic Gates, one International Gate, two Parking Lots, and is located about 20 minutes from Armenia.
The first international flight, from Fort Lauderdale operated by Spirit Airlines, landed at Armenia International Airport on 13 November 2009. There are currently two weekly flights to Hollywood International Airport. National Airlines and Destinations

Possible Future Destinations
On 19 of July 2010, at the JetBlue Airlines offices in Queens, NYC; a meeting took place between the Executive Director for Latin-America Chad Mayerson, Route Director Dave Clark and the Governor for the Department of Quindío Julio César López. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce and sell the benefits/advantages of initiating a route between New York City and Armenia. JetBlue Airlines is keen on introducing a service between both capitals and capitalize on the tourism growth that the area has seen over the past decade.
Another route currently being considered by JetBlue Airlines is the Orlando-Armenia route. This will give competition to the highly successful Spirit Airlines route currently operating twice weekly between Fort Lauderdale and Armenia.
Further meetings will take place to consolidate the routes.
