Mulhouse-Habsheim Airport (ICAO: LFGB) is a small airport near the town of Habsheim in France. The airport is a former military base, and is now mainly used for light aircraft. The airport also houses the Aéro-Club du Haut-Rhin Mulhouse.
Incidents & accidents
On 26 June, 1988, Mulhouse-Habsheim Airport was the site of the crash of Air France Flight 296. It was the first ever crash of an Airbus A320 type aircraft. The aircraft was doing a low flypast over the airport as part of an air show, but crashed into trees at the northern end of the airport. Three people were killed, and the airliner destroyed.
