The airport offers direct access to Galway City and county, as well as neighbouring counties Mayo, Roscommon, Clare and Limerick. Passengers can connect in London, Manchester, Edinburgh Birmingham and Glasgow from almost anywhere in the world to Galway and avoid having to face a long road or rail connection to their final destination in the West of Ireland. Galway Airport is the fastest growing regional airport in Ireland and has doubled its passenger throughput since 1998. Currently there are five daily services to Dublin twice daily to London, and daily to Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Glasgow.
With over 22,000 traffic movements each year the airport is host to a vibrant general aviation community. Galway Flying Club is located on the airfield along with many privately owned aircraft.
