Kilkenny Airport is home to the famous Kinair Air Rally (www.kinair.ie). The field is located just 1.5NM West of Kilkenny City. It has one grass runway, 29/07, which measures 930 meters long and 23 meters wide. There are 6 powered aircraft and two gliders based at the field.

From it establishment in 1972, KINAIR set itself one primary purpose - to create a gathering of pilots from many countries in a congenial, competitive atmosphere here in Kilkenny, a small, ancient city in Ireland.

And pilots and aircraft from 27 countries have taken part. Friendships begun here have flourished over the intervening years linking pilots in many countries in fellowship, based on a shared love of the freedom of the skies.

In that same spirit of camaraderie and international fellowship we again extend a warm and genuine welcome to all pilots, where ever they are based, to join us in Kilkenny, one of the special places where visitors always tell us they are delighted to discover.
