One of Ireland's premier General Aviation airfields, Kilrush is only 30minutes drive from Dublin and seems relatively undiscovered by much of Ireland's pilots. Ian Valintine, the owner, has done a wonderful job in providing the facilities. It is also one of the best maintained airfields I have ever come across. Kilrush is home to over 50 aircraft including many microlights and ultralights. Kilrush also hangers many homebuilt aircraft, EI-BYL being one of them. Due to the location of Kilrush under the EI-R16, movements restrictions have been imposed by Baldonnel which prevents any flying schools operating from the field.
