Honningsvåg Airport, Valan (IATA: HVG, ICAO: ENHV) (Norwegian: Honningsvåg lufthavn, Valan) is a regional airport in Nordkapp municipality in Finnmark, Norway. It mainly serves the city of Honningsvåg, but also Nordvågen, Kamøyvær, Gjesvær, and Skarsvåg. It was opened in 1977 and had 35 789 passengers in 2005. Honningsvåg Airport, Valan is also the nearest airport to North Cape. The airport is located at Valan, only 35 km from North Cape and 4 km north of the city centre of Honningsvåg. The airport is connected to Honningsvåg by European route E69. The single runway is 879 metres (2884 ft) long and numbered 08/26. Scheduled services are operated by Widerøe who operate Dash 8 aircraft as part of the regional network in Northern Norway connecting regional airports together. From Honningsvåg Airport, Valan you can fly to Southern Norway, such as Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim via Tromsø Airport. From Tromsø there is good connections with Scandinavian Airlines, Widerøe and Norwegian. Widerøe operates at Honningsvåg Airport, Valan on public service obligation contract with the Government of Norway with three daily flights to Hammerfest and Tromsø, and one daily flight to Mehamn, Vadsø and Kirkenes.
